Carer Skills Workshops

Our Zoom carer support group runs every few weeks on a Monday evening from 7pm. This is an open group that you can just turn up to, ask questions or just listen to the discussions in a safe, non judgemental and confidential environment.

Our Zoom New Maudsley carer skills workshops are run on a rolling basis and there are five two hour sessions in each series:

Workshop One – Introductions, Psychoeducation and Empathy

Workshop Two – Cycle of Change and Motivational Language

Workshop Three – Reflecting on Caring Responses. What to Try When Things Feel Stuck

Workshop Four – Coaching Your Loved One to Make Their Own Changes

Workshop Five – Review and Reflect Session

Topical Zoom seminars are run on a rolling basis, are 2 ½ hours in duration and incorporate the communication skills we use in the New Maudsley skills workshops:

  • Teenage Brain and Eating Disorders
  • Self Harm and Eating Disorders
  • Relapse Contingency Planning
  • Autism and Eating Disorders

The attached document describes each session and carers are welcome to sign up for any/all of them if they are relevant to your situation.

Workshops for Carers of Loved Ones with an Eating Disorder

I will be running the workshops on a rolling basis and carers should contact me for available dates.

Please see the flyers and brochure for more details. Ideally you should attend all four workshops within a series. The workshops are based on the techniques introduced in Skills Based Caring for a Loved One with an Eating Disorder, The New Maudsley Method by Janet Treasure which you can order from Amazon.

Places are limited and will be released on completion of a short registration form (see attached including three short exercises) and be on a first come first serve basis.

There is no charge but donations to the Charlie Waller Trust are most welcome
